The Shure SM57LCE is a dynamic instrument microphone for both live sound reinforcement and studio recording. It is commonly used on snare and tom drums, guitar amplifiers, brass and woodwinds. Because it handles high sound pressure levels, you can place it close to a loud snare or a cranked guitar cab and still capture a clean, clear signal.
Its tailored frequency response adds detail in the midrange along with a presence peak. That helps guitars, horns and drums cut through a busy mix without turning harsh. The cardioid polar pattern rejects sound from off-axis, so on a crowded stage it focuses on the source in front of it. This reduces spill from neighbouring instruments and lowers the risk of feedback.
The body combines die-cast steel, polycarbonate and stainless steel in a dark gray finish. It is built to cope with regular gigging, touring and long studio sessions.
