Casio Privia PX-870 Digital Piano

The Casio Privia PX-870 is a console-style digital piano built around the essentials of piano practice: a weighted hammer-action keyboard and a layered grand piano tone. Its Tri-Sensor II hammer-action keys have simulated ebony and ivory textures on the key surfaces, and three-sensor detection helps the keyboard follow the dynamics of your playing.

The AiR Sound Source uses a four-layer stereo grand piano sample. It also simulates damper, string and key-off resonance, the effects you hear when holding the sustain pedal, letting notes ring together or releasing a key. Four speakers deliver a combined 40 W through Casio’s Sound Projection system. Volume Sync EQ adjusts the tone as you change the volume, so the sound stays balanced during quiet practice and when you turn it up.

The PX-870 also works well for lessons. Duet Mode lets a teacher and student play in the same pitch range side by side, and two headphone outputs allow both to listen privately. Built-in concert play and lesson functions support home study, and USB-MIDI connects the piano to a computer or tablet for apps and recording software. The cabinet is made from fiberboard.
