Electro-Acoustic Guitar Richwood RD-12-CE

The Richwood RD-12-CE is an electro-acoustic guitar with a cutaway and an onboard pickup and preamp. It works as an unplugged acoustic for practice and can connect to an amplifier or PA system when you need more volume.

The top is spruce, and the neck is Indonesian mahogany with an acacia fingerboard. Acacia is also used for the bridge. The cutaway opens up the upper frets, which helps with lead lines, chord voicings higher up the neck and anything that takes you past the body join. The preamp has volume and tone controls, so you can adjust your level and shape the amplified sound from the guitar.

It’s a lightweight instrument, which makes it easier to carry to lessons, rehearsals and gigs. That makes it a practical choice for learners moving towards playing with others and for performing musicians who need a straightforward plug-in acoustic for the stage or recording.

• Built-in pickup and preamp with volume and tone controls
