The LP 807Z-AW is a 12 1/2″ tumba from Latin Percussion’s Galaxy Giovanni Series, built for players who want a deeper voice in their hand-drum setup. The shell is 3-ply North American ash with a natural deep gloss finish, so the wood grain stays visible under a glossy coat.
The tumba combines rich, resonant low tones with a crisp attack at the top end. Low notes have weight, and slaps and open tones still come through clearly. It suits samba, Latin and world music, and the 12 1/2″ size works for both ensemble playing and solo spots, with good projection and tonal clarity.
It is also lightweight and portable, which helps when you’re carrying it to rehearsals, gigs or festivals.
